CYCLING TRIPS 2005

Our club policy is that a helmet must be worn by each participant and your bicycle be in good working condition Under the Highway Traffic Act your bicycle must also be equipped with a bell. Because a bicycle is considered a road vehicle, the same regulations apply as to a car. Please use caution and common sense when riding your bike.

Waterfront Trail from Whitby to Darlington (Approximately 40 km) Meeting Place: Sunshine Rotary Park, parking lot (bottom of Brock Street in Whitby) Leader: Linda 416-283-9410.


Sunday, May 15, 9;30 a.m.

Day Cycling—Don Valley to Pickering. This is a combined cycling trip with the Outing Club of East York. We will cycle the Don Valley Trail to Pickering, approximately 50 -60 km. Level: Easy Meet: 9:30 a.m. Wilket Creek Leader: Eileen Rea 416-438-6267


Thursday, May 19, 9;30 a.m.
Mouth of the Rouge to Seaton Trail. Starting time is 9:30 a.m. This is a combined trip with the Seniors for Nature Canoe Club. Meet at the Mouth of the Rouge. We will cycle north to the village of Cherrywood and then continue to the Seaton Trail where we will have lunch. Don Valley Cycling Trail. Starting at 9:30 a. m. This is a combined trip with the Seniors for Nature Canoe Club. Meet at Taylor Creek Park—Dawes Road south of St. Clair—first parking lot. We will cycle down the Don Valley to Ashbridges Bay and continue on the Waterfront Trail. Lunch on the way. Leader: Josh Rea 416-438-6267 or e-mail: Eileen.rea@rogers.com

Peterborough to Lakefield. Approximately 42 km. Meet at the Marina, Del Crary Park, Beside the Holiday Inn, on George Street in Peterborough. Bring a lunch. Explore the Waterfront Trail from Cobourg to Wicklow Beach. The route is about 45 easy kilometres with no strenuous hills. Bring a lunch to eat while at Wicklow Beach by the lake. Meeting location is Victoria Park in downtown Cobourg. Leader: Roy Martin. For more details call 1-877-588-4669 during the day.

Ride the Humber River from Lawrence Avenue to the Lakeshore. Rain date will be July 1.

Warsaw and Area. Approximately 45 km. Meet at the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area, County Road 4. Bring a lunch. Relax at the beach or go for a swim after the ride. BBQ in the park.
